So maybe a fix for some of you. I uninstalled whatsapp and downloaded whatsapp business app and got the code to verify phone number then uninstalled whatsapp business and went back to whatsapp and reinstalled it and got the code and all working. I got the code through sms. This was on android so not tested with iPhone. Hope this is a fix for you all. 10 SOLUTION Okay, first of all - you have to scan the QR-Code with the scanner that is built in WhatsApp . Not with some 3rd-party scanner -app. Click on " Whatsapp Web ", then the scanner opens immediately. BUT - apparently there is a problem with devices that have a display smaller than 4 inches! I've been using WhatsApp on my phone and PC successfully for years. Today WhatsApp web lost the connection to my phone. I tried to scan the QR code and my phone just keeps saying "Use the WhatsApp Web scanner to scan this QR code." I've done this several times before, so I'm sure the QR code was framed correctly. I tried clearing the cache and cookies and also tried using a different browser. No joy. Any and all suggestions most appreciated! Then I suspect the clone will copy the whatsapp app from old phone to new phone, so I uninstall the whatsapp from my new phone and download again, but then it still cant send me the verification code for my first try, but at least this time, it didt ask me to contact support, after the count down timer end, I can request for new verification ...
