Improvements and updates are planned and implemented. Some time back we added FCM support and optimized the code. The contact-tracing API has been added too (it is not enabled by default on /e/OS though, see below). There are more updates in the pipeline. The project is complex and it would be great if more users contribute to it. In a nutshell, microG is a free and open-source alternative to the set of proprietary libraries that Google provides to be able to use Google Play Services on Android devices. microG Services is a FLOSS (Free/Libre Open Source Software) framework to allow applications designed for Google Play Services to run on systems, where Play Services is not available. As microG apps are in rapid development, please consider using the F-Droid repository to always have the newest version. If you know what you are doing, you can find links to APKs below.
