To enable States/ UTs to test water samples for water quality, and for sample collection, reporting, monitoring and surveillance of drinking water, an online JJM – Water Quality Management Information System ( WQMIS ) portal has been developed. This handbook provides a framework for water supply monitoring and surveillance under the Jal Jeevan Mission, a national program to provide safe and assured water to rural households. It covers the roles and responsibilities of various stakeholders, the protocols for sampling and testing, and the digital tools for data management.
