Vetrimaaran is an Indian film director, screenwriter and film producer, who works in the Tamil film industry. Vetrimaaran made his directorial debut with the Polladhavan. Vetrimaaran ’s debut feature film opens with a gruesome and brutal fighting sequence. Then, using flashback, the filmmaker takes us into the dynamic world of contemporary Chennai, where an educated young man, Prabhu (Dhanush), fights injustice and, in the process, is forced to unleash the animal within him. Vetrimaaran is a writer, producer and director working primarily in the Tamil film circuit. He was born to Dr. V. Chitravel, a veterinary scientist and Megala Chitravel, a noted novelist. Vetrimaaran is a director, screenwriter, and producer who predominantly works in the Kollywood film industry. As of 2016, Vetrimaaran has won 4 National awards and one Filmfare award. He made his directional debut through the movie Polladhavan, which was critically acclaimed.
