Om namah shivay: Basically is Om Namah Shivaya one

Basically is Om Namah Shivaya one of these manthras or we should remove om ? Can we chant the christian a-meen if we have christian background or is it bad ? Does panchakshari ( Namah Shivaya) mantra require initiation to chant? Some say yes and others say no. Some say it’s Vedic so we can’t chant without diksha while others say it’s also a puranic mantra so it doesn’t require, it’s a little confusing so any help clarifying would be great!
