NavIC (Navigation with Indian Constellation) is an autonomous satellite navigation system that provides accurate real-time positioning and timing services in India and its region. It consists of a constellation of eight satellites in geostationary and geosynchronous orbits, and offers two levels of service: standard and restricted. Conceived as India’s GPS, IRNSS-NavIC is India’s regional satellite navigation system covering the whole of India and 1500 km from its boundaries. NavIC is India's beacon of self-reliance, shining brightly in the world of satellite navigation, and now the indigenously built NavIC enabled chipsets will make it a truly ‘Made in India’ marvel. NavIC is a constellation of 7 satellites developed by ISRO to provide navigation services to India and its neighborhood.
