Mukhar Ansari was a gangster-turned-politician who has been a five-time MLA from Uttar Pradesh's Mau constituency. He was a relative of former Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari . Authorities say Ansari died of a cardiac arrest but the circumstances of his death are disputed by his family. Mukhtar Ansari was a former five-time MLA from Mau Sadar seat and had been behind bars in UP and Punjab since 2005. He had over 60 criminal cases pending against him. Mukhtar Ansari (30 June 1963 – 28 March 2024) was an Indian gangster, convicted murderer, [3] and politician, based in Uttar Pradesh. [4][5][6] He was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly from the Mau constituency five times, including twice as a Bahujan Samaj Party candidate.
