Fugi: Hi

Hi. What's the best technique for applying silicone around baths and basins? I've done it once or twice using masking tape which gives a good finish but is time-consuming. When applying "freehand" I tend to get in a right mess especially in corners. Any tips? Bought one of these today, the (5) version. I must be stupid or something because I'm absolute "" with it. Just seem to end up smearing the sealant all over the place. Also, it all squidges up the grout lines so I spend more time getting it out. Is there some special technique? The more... The silicon looks very thin! He said he is using 7 mm fugi tool. sometime I saw him using 5 mm too! Bead look very thin line in some places! Is it good enough thickness?
