The DPDP Act which received the assent of the President of India, establishes a framework for processing digital personal data. It balances the individual’s right to protect personal data with the need to process such personal data for lawful purposes. The DPDP Act is an Indian law to regulate the processing of digital personal data and protect the right to privacy. It was passed by the Parliament of India in August 2023 after several revisions and consultations.
