The new temple has been built at a cost of Rs 250 crore on a 24-acre plot in Digha in West Bengal’s Purba Medinipur district, about 350 km from Puri. Like the Puri Temple , the Digha temple is dedicated to Lord Jagannath , Lord Balabhadra, Goddess Subhadra and Goddess Mahalaxmi. Jagannath Dham Digha , also known as Digha Jagannath Temple , located in New Digha, Purba Medinipur district, West Bengal, India, is a serene and newly built temple dedicated to Lord Jagannath, a form of Lord Krishna. Like the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, the newly built Jagannath temple in Digha is divided into four mandaps (halls) -- the Vimana, which is the Garbha Griha or sanctum sanctorum, the Jagamohan, the Nat Mandir (dance hall) and the Bhog mandap, echoing the vibrant tapestry of Hindu faith, rich with history and tradition, the official said. The Jagannath Temple in Digha , West Bengal, is a significant Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Jagannath, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Initiated by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in 2018, construction began in 2022, and the temple is set to open on April 30, 2025
