Three new criminal laws – Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita ( BNS ), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita ( BNSS ), and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) – came into effect across the country on July 1. Contains all Enforced Central and State Acts linked with Subordinate Data like Rules,Regulations,Notifications,Orders,Circulars,Ordinances,Statutes. The Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023 ( BNSS ) has been introduced as a comprehensive reform to replace the nearly five-decade-old Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (CrPC), aiming to modernize India's criminal justice system.
