On his last day, Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorist Ajmal Amir Kasab was awakened in the wee hours of Wednesday for his execution at Pune's Yerwada Jail. The 26/11 Mumbai attack convict spent about half-an-hour in taking bath and then offered prayer. Kasab was then given new clothes to wear. According to reports, Kasab had joined the banned Pakistan-based Islamist group Lashkar-e-Taiba seeking weapons training, initially motivated by aspirations for a life of crime. However, some accounts suggest he was misled by his father, who sought financial benefit.
