Adalaj ni Vav / Adalaj Stepwell Adalaj ni Vav or Rudabai’s Vav is a stepwell located in the village of Adalaj due to which it is known as Adalaj ni Vav. It is close to Ahmedabad city and in Gandhinagar district in the Indian state of Gujarat. It was built in 1498 by Rana Veer Singh of the Vaghela dynasty of Dandai Desh. Today, Adalaj Stepwell stands as a symbol of resilience and love, attracting visitors from around the world who come to admire its architectural beauty and reflect on its poignant history. It serves not only as a historical site but also as a spiritual sanctuary where offerings are still made. Making up an essential part of Ahmedabad’s history, Adalaj Step Well was commissioned by queen Rudabai, the wife of Vaghela dynasty’s Rana Veer Singh in 1498. He was the ruler of a small kingdom denoted as Dandai Desh. Adalaj Stepwell or Rudabai Stepwell is a stepwell located in the small town of Adalaj, close to Gandhinagar capital of Indian state Gujarat. It was built in 1498 in the memory of Rana Veer Singh of the Vaghela dynasty.
